an entire people is being deliberately starved to death
In Gaza, World Central Kitchen @wck.org is among the last organizations still able to cook meals. The IDF has shut all crossings to shipments, including humanitarian relief. We are now nearing the end of our supplies—and the limits of what’s possible.

Hey, just a quiet reminder: it’s not true that people get more conservative as they age. *Populations* get more conservative as they age because poor and marginalized people die sooner.

CW: mental ill health + suicide.

The welfare system kills people.

Politicians force us to live in poverty, then pretend to care with band-aid funding for services that do nothing to address the poverty & cruel welfare policies that drive us to despair.

Raising rental assistance will not fix this. Without reform and ending landlord incentives like negative gearing, renters will continue to be used as commodities

We’ve made it impossible for renters to survive retirement, and yet Lyn feels like she’s “letting people down”.

Can't do anything to upset the landlords tho!

Being sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians, and sharing the injustices committed by Israel are not at odds with being a journalist or good journalism.

Our industry often awards/elevates journalists who speak unashamedly on human rights & social justice issues
