Voices Under Fire: Stories from Gaza
Join me at this event on 6 November to bear witness to the lives of Gazans experiencing genocide.  For one night, we'll come together as a community to read the poetry and first-hand accounts of Palestinians who have had to flee their homeland, those who have been martyred, and those who are still surviving the daily nightmare. All ticket sales will go to families currently in Gaza to help them buy food, medicine and other necessities.

All Bendigo Writers Fest needed to do was assure the visiting authors that nothing in their code of conduct would prevent attendees from using the g-word in relation to Gaza. If they had then none of this would be an issue. Why haven’t they? Because censorship is the point.

Israel has killed 180 Palestinian journalists since Oct 2023. There are 120 of us in this video remembering our slain Palestinian colleagues - it's staggering to see so many faces and realise more than this number have been killed.

Over 100 journalists from every outlet you can think of are in this video.

Journalists care about the truth and about our brave colleagues in Gaza.

It's the bosses who have let us all down.

Join your union.

As colleagues, we remember them.

One of the many devastating things about making this video was that we had to update it about three times during the making to account for further killings of journalists, including (you'll see at the end) a special mention of the 6 Al Jazeera journalists targeted by Israel. Please watch to the end.

Imagine the public outcry and Murdoch media beat-up if Australia allowed the China lobby to define sinophobia then enacted censorship on the PRC's behalf. Yet that's exactly what's happening with Israel and antisemitism.

Working at @chinadigitaltimes.net was the highest honor.

Though much of CDT's work is archival, it is not a monument to what was.

CDT is a future website. It is the only place in the world you can see what a free Chinese internet *will* look like.

Key aspect was that 1 in 5 people thought the changes to tax concessions of super balances over $3m would affect them.

In reality, it's about 1 in 200.

Easy test: if you don't know how much is in your super you won't be affected (because people with $3m in their super sure as sh*t know it)
Our research found more than half of Australians support or strongly support reducing tax concessions for super balances over $3 million.

The polling found 52% backed the idea, while 26% of people oppose or strongly oppose the changes and 22% are undecided.
