Who you think will have your back will most likely not in fact have your back when things get tough. And who actually reaches out can sometimes be a pleasant surprise.

Okay. Enough exposing my trauma, expressing rage, and disappointment in the systemic Whiteness of literature and publishing. This blak sheep has books to write
February 19, 2026 at 4:38 AM
Even "good settlers" will use Aboriginal people as doormats, not worried about adding trauma to existing trauma, when it serves their purposes. Literature and publishing is still not a safe space for mob

Sure, tread all over me in your open letter. It's not as if I matter

I wonder what would happen if I could sit down & yarn with the anonymous people who've spent about 18 mths screen-shotting my anti-genocide posts to show to RW media, publishers etc with the goal of getting my grants, awards, paid work and book contracts cancelled?

This behaviour is really not ok.

Dumping Arrernte Senator Liddle from the Indigenous portfolio for Julian Leeser is a shameful move.

Kerrynne understands the realities mob face, is hardworking and across the detail.

This is just hollow politics and Leeser will be useless.

All I can say: Fantastic. Great move. Well done, Angus.

Since Oct 2024, Murdoch media have been attacking me over a few deleted posts. I didn't wish anyone harm, let alone death. I expressed empathy for Palestinian people, who are being massacred, starved & tortured; and condemned the state responsible. This obsession with me, a nobody, is disturbing

Murdoch papers are at it again. My latest sin, for which I must report to the village square whipping post, is: I signed a book contract, which somehow sullied the reputation of David Malouf's & Kate Grenville's publisher. I'm sure David & Kate would be as bemused as I am at this ridiculous framing

It's fitting testimony to both Chris Minns' political acuity & the sheer bravery of NSW Police that it took six of his uniformed goons to tackle a septuagenarian opposed to the crime of genocide to the ground.
