Ever wonder what a PEM crash feels like? Or why certain activities others deem “easy” (like holding a phone or asking for help) are completely impossible when you’re lost in the fog?

There’s a great description below. We can’t push through. Pushing results in (sometimes permanent) loss of baseline.

The more severe we become, the more challenging to fundraise or self-advocate.

Communication requires concentration that amounts to cognitive exertion. The method of communication also has a physical element of exertion. Stress & anticipation use emotional exertion.

We crash.

Having midwives was an amazing experience and I'm so glad they'll be able to care for more patients.
Congratulations to Community Midwives of Kingston on the opening of their new clinic! This new space will give more families access to the high-quality, personalized care that midwives are able to offer.

The Ford government is about to ram through Bill 6, which would build more jails, instead of the affordable homes that people need.

It would also be more expensive: supportive housing costs $25,000 a year per person, and incarceration costs $133,000.

The government announced a benefit to “lift people out of poverty”…
It’s $200 a month. Not enough to save lives.

What’s worse? Provinces may claw it back.

Oh come on! Food banks aren't part of a real social safety net; they exist because the system is failing. A true safety net includes things like income support, disability benefits, housing, healthcare, and childcare. We need lasting solutions, not emergency stopgaps.
