Last week, I attended the Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus which brought many officials to Kingston.

It was great to chat with representatives from across Eastern Ontario about the shared and unique needs of our municipalities!

My Constituency Office is closed for in person visits from today, until Friday, Jan. 16, due to ongoing leaks that the landlord has failed to remedy over the last two years. Staff are operating out of a temporary location and will be monitoring phone calls and emails following regular hours.

Our next leader must be someone ..with a vision...who can inspire Ontarians...and earn trust. It can’t be determined...by friendship circles or...supporters.

Several new provincial laws took effect on January 1. Notably, changes to the Employment Standards Act now require public job postings to include salary ranges and disclose whether AI was used to screen applications.

Earlier this month, I attended the Building Science Association of Ontario conference in Toronto to learn about cutting-edge building technologies. Innovation and efficiency are key to reducing building costs, and it’s great to see Ontario companies leading the way.

I was glad to take part in councillor Hassan's fifth annual Santa Slices, helping make pizzas that are delivered to the incredible staff of Kingston organizations that serve those in need. This is a great initiative that I would love to see other communities do as well!

I’ve been reading letters from constituents sharing their experiences with food insecurity.

I’ll keep calling on the government to tackle the affordability crisis by doubling social assistance, building more affordable housing and supporting those at risk of food insecurity.

Yesterday, I met with Kimberly Compeau, the new director of Kingston Interval House. We discussed the shortage of affordable housing and the risks this has women and children fleeing violence, and their provincial funding that hasn’t kept up with inflation since 2017.

I was happy to lend a hand serving at the annual Salvation Army Christmas Dinner. Thanks to the hard work of well-organized volunteers, an incredible number of turkey dinners were served while live Christmas music played!

The horrible mass shooting in Australia targeting the Jewish community on the first day of Hanukkah should also remind us that antisemitism is here in Ontario and threatens all of us too.

December 3rd is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a time to honour the disabled community & reflect on the work still needed to be done. Ontario promised full accessibility by 2025, yet barriers remain.

Today is a call to build an accessible Ontario for all.

Today is the first day of the Youth Imagine the Future exhibit at Queen's University! From Dec 3-12, the exhibition features stories and artwork about the climate crisis and a sustainable future created by young people.

A diploma in Ontario should open the door to a career. Youth aren't asking for shortcuts, just a fair shot.

That’s why @ontliberal.bsky.social proposed a $450 million Youth Career Fund: to rebuild the path from graduation to opportunity and ensure a generation isn't left waiting.

On Monday, I met with @ontariopork.bsky.social to discuss their export strategy and competitive advantage in global markets. The industry is working to expand exports beyond the U.S., and increase in-province processing before selling their products internationally.

Dr. Ammar Rashid, a Pakistani immigrant, was recognized in 2022 for his work in improving access to family medicine in Kingston.

Ontario’s plan to restrict residency matching to international grads with two years of Ontario high school would shut out talent when we need it most.

On Tuesday, I met with the Chicken Farmers of Ontario at Queen’s Park to discuss industry developments, including how they were impacted by the avian flu hitting the U.S.

At the chicken-wing reception, I got to feature the Ultra Hot Sauce from the Iron Duke on Wellington. #OntAg

Today, on #TransgenderDayofRemembrance, we recognize those who have been victims of transphobic hate and violence in Ontario.

The trans community continues to face barriers to acceptance, and this day reminds us to stand with them in their fight for respect, dignity, and inclusion.

This week, I met with the @ontariobeef.bsky.social to discuss a breeder loan guarantee modeled on the existing feeder program.

Thanks for explaining what a default would look like, and how the program has never required a payout for a default since it began in 1990.
