As someone who’s studies, practices, and teaches leadership and management, I’ve long come to realize that it’s not all about strategy and tactics nor objectives and KPIs, but it’s about values. Values that enrich the person: the practitioner, their colleagues, and society in general.

I don’t think the ideology matters at all. I think the next Democrat who might be president will be someone who gets grassroots support and has authentic momentum. Right now the far and away leader by those measures is AOC.

Much as we’d like to change hearts and mind, we can’t and we don’t. It’s the person whose heart and mind we hope to change that does it themselves. The best we can do is live by example and offer reasons for change.
