I finished the 2nd draft of this book feeling nervous but reading it back I think it might be the best thing I’ve ever written.

Still got some tweaking to do before it’s ready for eyes but check out this guide to TROUBLE THE WATERS, a historical fantasy about Black resistance, protection & magic ✨

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

One of the best parts of this job is being able to share good news. We got some great news this week, and it filled my heart to be able to share it with my client. It can take years to get there, so it’s important to cherish that moment and celebrate it. It makes the hard work all worthwhile.

Damn straight. Be fucking loud and obnoxious. Shove this in the face of your idiot uncle and racist high school friends.
This is incredibly important:

we must frame tonight as a resounding victory — an electoral landslide, a mandate from the universe itself

and as a repudiation of MAGA, of Trump, and of vichy democrats

we must be relentless, we must not shut up

We really needed this. It’s been a while, friends, but I missed this feeling. We still have a long way to go and there’s a lot of work ahead, but damn does it feel like things are about to be a whole lot less bleak than they’ve been for a while now. Bring on the midterms!

If you are a Democratic senator watching these results and the lesson you take is "I should cave and help Republicans reopen the government for nothing more than a promise written on toilet paper" then you shouldn't be in the Senate anymore
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

This is why Chuck has NO REASON to come back to the table. Let them twist. If you're coming back with wins this big during a shutdown, the people know where their bread is buttered. Don't throw them a lifeline. These aren't tiny margin wins. They're blowouts.

I love this.
Zohran picked 「卓蘭」("excellent orchid") for his first name and「夸梅」("brilliant plum") for his middle name.

The orchid and the plum are among "The Four Noble Ones" in traditional Chinese art, the former symbolizing an indifference to fame and fortune, the latter an indomitable, incorruptible spirit.
