LET ME BE PERFECTLY CLEAR: DOJ DID ALL OF THIS TO TRY AND STOP PAYMENTS TO PEOPLE UNDER AN ANTI-HUNGER PROGRAM.
Oh, this is wild.

DOJ went to SCOTUS *before* we got the First Circuit's administrative stay denial. (We know this because DOJ just filed a letter at SCOTUS about the admin stay denial.)

So, DOJ went to SCOTUS b/c the First Circuit did not meet its less-than-seven-hour "deadline" for a ruling.

Cool coool. Are we now going to build on “Kavanaugh Stops” to get a “Kavanaugh Starvation” opinion? Just brainstorming, maybe we can call it a “Kavanaugh Let Them Eat Ballroom.”
BREAKING: DOJ goes to SCOTUS trying to stop a district court order that USDA pay out full SNAP benefits this month.

The First Circuit denied an administrative stay, but has not yet ruled on the stay request. And, CNN reported that USDA is already processing payments.

DOJ went to SCOTUS anyway.

Hey that’s really unfortunate your financial solvency depends on your ability to thrust economic instability on others, but then maybe you shouldn’t be allowed to own someone else’s home. Idk!! Give it to the government for safekeeping. Like a little treat
I could not fucking care less if my actual life depended on it

If Zohran makes it through the general (which is hardly guaranteed!), it’s crazy how important his mayorship becomes to the revival of the American left.

We have a chance to prove we can govern the most important city in the country. What a fucking opportunity.

sorry I can't get over how cynical this is. dude *just* voted for a bill that was pushed by the crypto lobby and left out any protections against Trump's corruption. *now* he's claiming to address the issue with a bill that will never pass? this is galling even by modern Dem standards
Donald Trump and other senior administration officials have made a fortune off of crypto schemes.

Today, I'm introducing the COIN Act to put a stop to this corruption in plain sight.

It’s so beautiful to see men who are sexual predators support other men … who are also sexual predators. Solidarity is alive and well! Inspiring

Really feel like the NYC mayor’s race shows that there is no such thing as a progressive establishment, and there is, in fact, an anti-progressive establishment that runs all the way from Murdoch to Clinton

It's this part of Biden's legacy--not potentially needing a wheelchair--that the Democrats must grapple with right now in order to be a functional party.

Because I see at best scattered and perfunctory opposition

covid threw into high relief how many working class people are absolutely necessary to keeping society functional, and rather than that sparking a renewed commitment to an economy that rewards such workers, we've seen an elite backlash against even modest increases in their market power

No one can deny that America has done a lot of awful things - but it was clearly not founded on ideals of “genocide” but on universal rights and an open society governed by the people for the people
Yeah, because its founding ideals were broadly fucked or built on genocide, you rube. But if you accept that you can actually try to make things better rather than dick riding your rosy idea of an American past that never existed.
