There is no route out of fascism that involves sacrificing the vulnerable. All that does is tell the fascists that we're willing to turn on each other for the illusion of safety.
A lot of political influencers within the Atlantic/NYT orbit are very, very eager to sell us on the lie that we can get out of fascism by sacrificing trans people.

When my husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma 9 years ago today, I discovered that one of my favorite writers at Mother Jones had it too. We were in shock and seeing Kevin living and working with MM gave us hope and an idea of what the path forward might look like.

When my husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma 9 years ago today, I discovered that one of my favorite writers at Mother Jones had it too. We were in shock and seeing Kevin living and working with MM gave us hope and an idea of what the path forward might look like.

There are a million reasons to call our reps right now, but when I called Padilla's office the staffer I spoke to had no idea that some Deaf federal employees have lost access to ASL interpretation, and that the White House has stopped providing ASL. If you're able, please mention this to your reps!
