Continued thoughts about being a person of privilege in a supremacist society while trying to oppose supremacy, and the some ideas on how best to avoid becoming an obstacle to that struggle by resisting the supremacist urge to center darkness.

Two weeks ago the named partners from Keker, Van Next, and Peters wrote a NYT oped about why law firms should never cave to Trump. Now they're also seeking to file an amicus in the JGG (Venezuelans renditioned to El Salvador) case saying "fuck yeah, you can hold the gov't in contempt for this"

Look up what you can run for: runforwhat.net
This is not a subtweet about anybody, but if you're thinking about running for office, it doesn't have to be for Congress. There are so many important local elections where your community needs you to step up.

Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble.
For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity.

What will you do?

We depend on the rule of law. We rely on it to do our work, to defend our rights, to support our communities.

Writing for @newsweek.com, I urge lawyers to become zealous advocates in support of the rule of law.

From an operational security perspective, this is the highest level of fuckup imaginable. These people cannot keep America safe.
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

We must all try to move the fucking sink.
I wrote about the practical strategic necessity of doing "impossible" things, the moral and strategic emptiness of making the middle your destination, and the way persuasion requires vision, and vision requires standing for something.

Yes, boundaries are an affront to the culture of supremacist thinking.
I had been trying to articulate HOW covid broke America and this sums it up completely. It forced boundaries on people who hate boundaries and this is all one giant cultural tantrum.
Last night a friend and I were talking about like. What Happened over the past decade where it feels like COVID caused a lot of kind of bog standard soft conservatives to spiral out into anti-vaccine Nazism. And my thing was, a lot of these people had never had any constraints put on their behavior

This is 🎯. The primaries of 2026 will not be easily defined by progressive vs moderate - they’ll be shaped by things like tone & style; fight vs decorum, & I strongly suspect, generational lines.
My very strong suspicion is that the left/right axis and the fight/don't-fight axis are in the process of unlinking, and that the fight/don't-fight split is emerging as the core struggle in the Democratic Party.
We seriously need to separate the left/right axis from the fight/don’t fight axis.
