And it's so peak 😭 (I'm only about 6 hours in though... this game lowkey came out at the worst time for me with school ramping up lol). So worth the years of waiting!!

It’s a really exhausting time to be a scientist/meteorologist. Seems like a never ending stream of misinformation, threats, and chaos.

Another example from yesterday demonstrates the @nws.noaa.gov’s Storm Prediction Center’s exceptional expertise. This, along with WFOs, national centers, and more, is just $4 per year per person.

I extend my condolences to those who lost loved ones yesterday. 😔 #SevereWeather #NWS #Meteorology

16 died yesterday from severe storms. First, it happens and there’s millions of possibilities as to why. But, it’s a legit concern and families have a right to know if staffing & budget cuts in government offices played a role. Not saying it did, IDK if anything was missed. But, Congress should ask.

Didn't watch the Nintendo direct this morning but I found out Silksong got mentioned for 4 seconds during the sizzle reel and we might have a 2025 release confirmed?? Tbh that's the funniest way that could have been announced 😭 #nintendo #nintendodirect #hollowknight #silksong

Just finished Sunrise on the Reaping and no spoilers but I'm gonna need about 5-7 business days, maybe even a few weeks, to process all of that...

Also Suzanne made it clear that she is PISSED about everything that's been happening (which I could have assumed but iykyk...) and I loved it

“It was a bust”

Nope. Multiple significant tors and fatalities occurred with at least 37 tornado reports so far.

Just because you didn’t get your disaster porn in a heavily populated area doesn’t mean the forecast was a bust. Some of y’all need therapy.

Just wanna thank @spann.bsky.social for all of the communication he has with his audiences during high-impact events like this weekend. I have a friend who is experiencing her first Alabama spring after living in Ohio all of her life and I've been sending her the info that Spann has been posting

Those who support this also support innocent lives being at risk due to lack of severe weather warnings and research to better understand our atmosphere.

All because you wanted to save a buck. 🤡

Today’s firings from NOAA/NWS are unconscionable & make us all less safe.

It is wild to see certain weather bros for the first time realize politics affects them. I hope this inspires them to be more proactively engaged in politics instead of loudly and proudly declaring themselves above politics.

The hammer fell on NOAA/NWS this afternoon. 😭💔 There were no exceptions. All probationary employees.
New: Layoffs underway of probationary employees at @noaa.gov Unclear so far how many were exempted for public safety reasons at the Nat'l Weather Service, NOAA Satellites and other units. www.axios.com/2025/02/27/l...
Layoffs hit federal climate, weather agency NOAA
The cuts could affect NOAA's weather forecasts, climate research and other functions.

Giggling at this as I'm writing the proposal for my "why aren't people listening to the warnings we issue?" project 😂
To accompany all those Bluesky science/academia #starterpacks, how about we also share introductions to the literature of our different fields. I present here a handy guide to main types of papers in meteorology (inspired by the amazing @xkcd.com). 🧪
