The government's benefits cuts, two-child cap and freeze in Local Housing Allowance are all *false economies*. They don't save money. They merely push spending into different parts of the budget, while causing untold suffering.

It's not just that I think Labour cutting disability benefits is horribly cruel....I think it's bad politically. It won't lead to anyone feeling better off, it has no short term payoff and DEFINITELY zero longterm payoff. It's just all-round bad, like shitting on the dance floor at a wedding.

The panic about too many people & too many of them being on benefits is misplaced.
