BLITZER: I want to be precise. Should members of the US military obey clearly illegal orders?

McCLAIN: You're asking an enlisted person for their opinion on what they think is legal. That's a pretty slippery slope. Follow your commander in chief. That's the oath that you took

The saddest. I don't know much about doing comedy, but I'm pretty sure that putting someone's picture into grok and reading out its worst, vulgar insults isn't a 'roast' or funny to anyone but a few 14 yr old edgelords.
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

The richest man on earth had two choices for deploying his unfathomable wealth: 1) help the world in a meaningful way or 2) build an AI for bullying people. And he wonders why he's globally loathed.

That anyone would describe LLMs as AI any kind of or "intelligence" is laughable - just read this insanity! It's like describing a latex doll as a 'girlfriend'.

Musk has apparently manipulated Grok so much that it says he's a better athlete than LeBron James and a funnier comedian than Jerry Seinfeld.

Imagine being so insecure you need to program an LLM to boost you like that.

C'mon @harvard.edu, you can do it! There's only one acceptable response to learning that this should-be-retired profs flew with Epstein and sought his advice for how to have convince his grad student to have sex with him. Please, please don't make a mess of it-- just fire this revolting wanker

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

True for our whole 🇨🇦 apparatus of food banks.

They are essential, but they are also testimony to the inadequacy of wage incomes and income assistance

Had the most wonderful day visiting Curve Lake FN with my kid for the Mnoominkewin, learning about wild rice, eating amazing food from Shawn Adler of the Flying Chestnut, getting out on the lake to try harvesting & planting, and hearing sublime talks by @biidaasamose.bsky.social & Winona LaDuke(!!)

Wait, so he’s saying the core beliefs of the whole structure that is the US military are held up by one thing, which is ‘grooming standards’? Seems a bit cosplay-y, no?

Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.

economics not beating the “astrology for men” allegations with quotes like this
When your “superpower” as a country is self-delusion about upward mobility it enables the status quo. Because nobody is demanding substantive change if the majority believe they’re just temporarily embarrassed millionaires, as the saying goes.

Imagine you’re just a bird teenager trying to live your life, and then a giant monster traps you, makes you wear ugly jewellery, puts your picture on the internet and says your name is ‘yellow rumped,’ and then flattens out your bum! So rude.

The scavenger hunt is using NYC mayoral history to paint Mamdani as firmly within the mainstream of that history. On age. On DSA membership. On public transportation policy. It's such a smart way to launch the general election campaign.
OMG the Mamdani campaign is utterly brilliant. Chef's kiss. Art.
We have Clue #3!!

I don't know which NYC Mayor this is, but I'm willing to bet location 3 is the Staten Island Ferry — which is FREE!

Mamdani's #ZCavengerHunt shows what politics can be when it's rooted in joy and community. We deserve leaders who uplift our neighborhoods, celebrate our culture and invite everyone to play along, rather than stoking fear or division. This is the energy we need.

This is a thousand layers of awesome! Engaging and social, cool but joyful, innovative and creative, resisting fear narratives, educational and political but not didactic, accessible for everyone but also geared to gen Zs. Wish we had even a single Ontario politician like this 😍
We finished #ZcavengerHunt around 6pm and waited in line for a little over an hour. This was a great way to spend the day. We finished it using public transport. We talked to some fun people in the line. It was nice to visit parts of the city I normally wouldn't go to and learn about past NYC mayors

How anyone could write the phrase “decolonially trained AI” with a straight face, much less use it as a defence/justification/excuse for anything, is just amazing. It’s so beyond stupid.
Just had a literary festival try to assuage my concerns about their workshop with a “decolonially trained AI” by assuring me the AI isn’t getting paid for their session, as if my concern was grounded in the pay scale for the robots

Universal childcare would be one of the best ways to stimulate the economy. Studies have shown an increase in workplace participation and wages. For kids, it helps foster development. The ROI on childcare is insane.
