So our entire economic well being hinges on a company with $20B in revenues spending $1.4T on AI infrastructure when there isn’t enough electricity generated on the planet to power that many data centers?

Truly the worst to ever do it. No understanding of power levers, completely out of touch with public sentiment and political winds, no principles, and a godawful communicator to boot.
JFC. Does @schumer.senate.gov not get that by caving, Democrats make it *harder,* not easier, to make the ACA subsidies expiring stick politically to Trump/GOP? This effort to shame Republicans in this context risks signaling to low-info voters that Rs are standing on conviction and Dems aren't.

Federal prosectors acted to enforce the law with proper procedure and got fired, because the White House opposes that.

The new standard: Criminals the president likes should be allowed to do crimes, and people he doesn't like should be prosecuted for things they didn't do.

I preferred rule of law.
Breaking on MSNBC:

Two federal prosecutors have been placed on leave at the direction of the White House after filing a sentencing memo seeking 27 months in prison for a pardoned Jan. 6 rioter who brought illegal guns and ammunition to President Obama's house in 2023.

Incredible optics demolishing the White House facade to build a giant ballroom for one special boy on the tail of the No Kings protests. And to do it while the gov't is shut down, food, medical, and housing prices are higher than ever, and we just funneled $40B to bail out his toady in Argentina.
Scoop: Trump has started demolishing the White House's East Wing facade to build his ballroom. The president had claimed construction of the $250 million building wouldn’t ‘interfere’ with the existing White House structure. /W @ddiamond.bsky.social wapo.st/4hqBNiU

They don't think they're public servants.

They think they're kings, princes, dukes, and barons. They control the government, and that makes them royalty, and that means our money should be used to buy them planes and gold-plated toys and gilded ballrooms

There's a real poetic symmetry to a week that started with the president gloating about the taxpayer-funded 24K gold he's slathering in the Oval Office then two days later canceling healthcare for millions.

Never let yourself become numb to the horrific daily evils that this catastrophic administration inflicts on good people.
Horrifying— Barbara Gomes Marques went with her US citizen husband and lawyer on 9/16 to a green card appointment at USCIS office in downtown LA where she was tricked into walking down a hallway away from them, was snatched by ICE and never came back. She now faces imminent deportation in Louisiana.

As a taxpayer, I find this particular flavor of corruption absolutely blood-boiling.
The Air Force and Navy are poised to cancel two nearly complete projects worth about $800 million because they want Salesforce and billionaire Peter Thiel's Palantir, to have a chance to win similar projects. The result could be a costly do-over.

Seems criminally negligent that Texas regulators greenlit this.
good morning, here's a gnarly mistake from yesterday's Tesla "robotaxi" launch day: the vehicle is in a turn lane, signaling for the left, and about halfway through it bails out and decides to drive directly into an oncoming lane

seems extremely chill!

Tesla fake robotaxi rollout going about as expected. Love that not only did it ignore the school bus lights and hit the “child,” it then took off in a hurry afterwards.
“Tesla’s driverless ‘robotaxis’ could launch in Austin as soon as June 22. But a demo in Austin today showed a $TSLA, manually driven to test its Full Self-Driving system, failed to stop for a child-sized dummy at a school bus—and hit it.”

Batshit insane that Twitter accepts ads like this.

Good anthology of 20 years of outrageous lying that, for some reason, has never caught up with him.
Great story on the simples reason Elon Musk shouldn't be in business or politics: he's a shameless liar, and nobody should believe a single thing he says.

Someone with this record of blatant lying to investors shouldn't be able to get a credit card.
