The EU Court has found that we have failed to even bring in the laws we’d need to comply with our obligations to combat water pollution.

During his meeting with high school students in Slovakia, PM Fico said that EU would allocate money "to continue the war" in Ukraine.

When the students objected, he told them to go to Ukraine if they support the war.

The students walked out.

Immigrants are not the reason I've struggled to retain housing or buy my own home - Government policies are. Landlords like Timmy Dooley are. #Spéirgorm

Memories of plunging my hand deep into the very cold peat to uncover Iron Age wooden planks last seen over 2,000 years ago.

In 1986, I started work on my first archaeology dig at Corlea 1, dated to 148/147 BC. I didn’t know then it would be some of the most spectacular archaeology of my career.

One thing to do, especially if you’re a science writer or editor, is when you have occasion to mention the names of the discoverers of the structure of DNA, just say “Watson, Crick, and Franklin.” No one can stop us, and it is correct.

For those in any doubt, the ongoing nitrates derogation debate is not about the science on water quality, it's political wrangling, with our rivers, lakes and seas caught in the crossfire.

Our waterways deserve better- one can't drink politics.

Simon Harris said this week that 80% of asylum applicants fail, but as Mick Clifford points out here, that is a highly selective figure cherry picked with a very obvious agenda.

A public consultation is open until Monday on a new pedestrian crossing near the Glen River Park.

Residents have also asked for more traffic calming measures.

The crossing is an opportunity to create a raised table. If you can, add your voice to that demand.

I do wonder if the bar of perfection we expect these days may be a bit much.

We know so much more about every facet of a candidates political stances, personal lives, previous jobs, etc. I think it'd be rare to find someone more than a 75% match with your personal values.

Just go with the closest.
