on the one!
35 years with a much loved coat.
I also used to wear a sweater from my dad’s school days but have passed that down to a niece 😊
What’s the oldest article of clothing you still wear? I just pulled out a 29-year-old puffy coat that is still plenty puffy.

So many guitarists have wanted to be Steve Cropper: quite rightly, and it made them better guitarists.
Fuck, this one hurts, for me the greatest guitarist, a musician in the service of the band and the song, who played on and helped create a wild succession of the finest records ever made. RIP Steve Cropper.

He was central to so much, but I'll remember him as a breathtaking part of one of the most stunning instrumental group performances ever recorded. RIP Steve Cropper.

Yep! More people need to internalize this truth.
ANYTHING LESS THAN A LIVING WAGE IS EXPLOITATION
Every time people post comments like this it reveals the deep-seated contempt y'all have for service workers.

EVERYONE deserved a living wage. And if your business can't/won't pay it, you shouldn't be in business. Anything less than a living wage, which now is $26 an hour, is exploitation
You got to be kidding.
How much do you want to get paid for handing somebody a coffee?

This reminds me of a book I listened to recently. Judi does a deep dive on each of the many roles she’s played and it is SO interesting, I didn’t want it to end. I highly recommend the audiobook because Barbara Flynn is a perfect narrator!

Living Colour: Tiny Desk Concert
Did we really squeeze the big sound of Living Colour behind the Tiny Desk? Yes, we did. And, yet, the band lost none of its intensity.

Painting in kindergarten and a boy said I used too much red, aka satan’s color. I replied, well then it’s my favorite color *and* announced the same at home that night. I put up with 3yrs of always being given the red version of things even though it’s not at all my fave. Still a contrarian though.
Tell me an 'on brand' memory of your childhood.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

I’m reading more “takes” about how we got here. And they all begin and end with Trump and myopically refuse to see what’s right in front of us. Oh, America. We may be fully lost, but we need to face why. So, I’m reposting my take. open.substack.com/pub/sherrily...
