Just your friendly neighborhood bad influence(r). Beat is for Sonny Bono; beat is for Yoko Ono. Leftist Gen X(ist).
The explanation is always “well, I guess whomever I lended it to clearly needed to read it more than I needed to hang on to my first edition copy of it,” isn’t it? 🤨

Having watched _Coffee & Cigarettes_ again on Plex for the first time in decades, am I the only one who feels kinda low-key pissed at Tom Waits for being such a dick to Iggy even after all these years? I know it shouldn't bother me, but it does.

I'm beginning to think that the reason that no one has picked up and run with "Kristi Noem Chomsky" is because there's not a goddamned thing anybody can do with that. Despite the initial promise and zazz, it's a comedic dead end. I would love, however, for someone to disabuse me of my defeatism.

Special thanks to all the worms in politics and media who tried to sell us “universally beloved saint Charlie Kirk” over the last few days. Sorry you failed but 1) not nearly as many people know him as you thought / hoped 2) he was deeply racist, like on a KKK level, and that’s kinda off-putting

The fact that this administration is hell bent on punishing Kilmar Abrego Garcia while rewarding Ghislane Maxwell tells you all you need to know about their violent racism and misogyny.

Elon Musk wakes up, bleary and disoriented.

"Grimes, I just had the weirdest dream..." he mutters as he rolls over to her.

"Tell me all about it, Space Daddy," replies Stephen Miller's wife in bed beside him.

"Yeah, tell her," comes Stephen's bitter voice from a chair in the semi-darkness.
Convinced Musk is so far gone at this point that if he did sober up, he'd have no recollection of the last 3 years and be shocked to discover that he owns Twitter

I know it bothers you as much as it does me that journalism as an institution can’t process that what it’s seeing on a daily basis is evil people doing evil sh*t

Not incompetence, not naivete, not negligence, not mispeaking, not mixups, not miscommunications: straight-up evil people doing evil sh*t

Fewer than three weeks in, and already the buyers' remorse on this whole "Idiocracy" vision for our country seems to be coming... perhaps a little faster than I expected? I mean, sure, we're fucked regardless, but WOW those responsible seem to be feeling it somewhat more rapidly than I anticipated.

I really want to see a panel discussion between Noam Chomsky and Bernie Sanders one day, if only to witness Chomsky refer to Sanders as "young man" when addressing him.
