There’s nothing wrong with healthy living, it should be encouraged

“Wellness grifters” aren’t about a healthy lifestyle. They’re about selling stuff & blaming chronically ill people for being sick

Most of what they recommend is too expensive for people on disability, and a lot of it is dangerous

yarvin is like one percent as intelligent as he thinks he is, and his knowledge of history is a quarter inch deep. his only real genius is in packaging his ignorance in a way that made very old right wing ideas sound new and shiny to young tech bros who are nominally literate
So Curtis Yarvin is a fool, so it will not surprise you that 'executive' is not, in fact, a 'literal synonym' of 'monarchy.'

Executive is just "that which carries out" from Latin exsequor, 'to follow to completion.' There is no etymological reason the executive needs to be a single person.
Always funny to me that Yarvin is held up as the great intellect of the New Right and then when he argues for stuff it's this - here's some etymology for a synonym of a word you're using, so we gotta have a tyrant -- checkmate libs. Behold the philosopher.

💣The Carpet Bombing of HHS 💥

It's hard to describe how America's health agencies have been bombed and shelled in the past few months, but John Oliver is a good start. 🧵

if a government agency releases a document that veers wildly away from what the entire medical consensus says,

you do not report it this way.

you say the report contradicts the consensus in the headline.

our job in journalism is to inform, first and foremost.

The fucking HHS Report deadnames and misgenders people like Chevalière d’Eon, Lili Elbe, and Christine Jorgensen - Christine Jorgensen!! - and in fact *blames* her for starting the "movement".

It even references Magnus Hirschfeld - but not, you know, WHAT HAPPENED TO HIRSCHFELD AND HIS PATIENTS.

Ohio HB 12 is having an opponent hearing May 7. This "Right to Try Act" will allow a provider to prescribe any FDA approved drug for off-label use and protects them from state sanctions. Pharmacists and hospitals can refuse if they have religious or ethical objections.

Yesterday, Planned Parenthood of Arizona restarted gender affirming care for transgender adults.

This decision comes after widespread public outcry at a "pause," which was seen as overcompliance with Trump threats.
