Boring, literary, land back. Kōrero Māori mai. 🏳️‍🌈
Not a Nicky Wills fan but also not seeing how she's any worse than the rest of that shower, and she's not even in charge. Smells of misogyny.

No it it isn't. Students editing LLM text instead of writing is like only using a calculator and never learning to do the maths. How can you assess something you don't know how to construct?

I do not understand wanting to outsource your thinking. My thoughts are the part of me that belongs only to me? My mind is an exciting place with endless potential for expansion? You want to give that up? You want the machine to think your thoughts and write them down and make a picture? Ew.

Nah for real though, being on the indigenous side of a treaty with pākehā mostly feels like being an exhausted adult following around a toddler who’s perpetually stuck in that stage of development where they have hundred percent confidence and zero percent knowledge. But for centuries.
I wish pākehā understood how forgiving Māori wanting Te Tiriti o Waitangi to be honoured is. Do you know how staunchly entrenched in your values you have to be to hold up your side of the more generous agreement across multiple generations when the other party never has?

You'd think that parties who regularly get >40% of the vote wouldn't be aping parties who rarely get more than 7%, but I'm not a career politician so perhaps I'm just not enough of a malevolent fucking weasel to understand these things.

This nonsense makes parliament look like they haven't left debate club. A personal vendetta to deprive MPs of their voting is depriving constituents of their representative voice. Baby behaviour! Pathetic grudge match!

We say this often, but this really is a must-read: the story of 2025 Taite Album prizewinner Mokotron, by @garethshute.bsky.social. His backstory is amazing: he made a riddim used in Jamiacan star Popcaan's song ‘Only Man She Want’, which was a global hit. www.audioculture.co.nz/profile/moko...

Fisheries and libraries united front! Undervalued by the public! Undermined by the government! Abused by service users! No-one but the workers have any idea what the job is!

Why is ACT so obsessed with librarians? Did someone once ask them to use headphones in the library? Are they just afraid of record-keeping?

Is fisheries officer meant to be a particularly highly skilled job and valued job? What's with suddenly saying no-one could job like a fisheries officer?
From a form letter response from Luxons office regarding pay equity. This seems disingenuous.

Pay equity within industries is ensuring every person receives the same pay for the same job. What’s this libraries vs fisheries bullshit?

I would like a consensus parliament. Everyone who gets elected is in and you all have to work together now.
"In terms of tikanga, the parliamentary system makes no sense... the people who are supposed to look after the wellbeing of this country spend their whole time fighting each other, instead of sitting down and trying to work out what is the best for everybody.” #nzpol

In a ddition to my refusal to read something no-one has written, I don't see why you would write something that no-one will read?
What company* is running this marking?
What do they do with the kids’ data?
Do kids get to consent to their data being used that way?

The Spin-off is right. Guy Williams should have watched what mainstream NZ journalists are doing and copied that. He should have asked him - how he proposed to his fiancé and where they plan to go for their honeymoon.
