Years later, Russia invaded Ukraine. Bombing us with the same aircrafts we gave them during disarmament and killing our people with the very missiles they acquired from us. A five-star betrayal. True villains. Top notch.

One perspective I have: Poles knew better.
Of course in 1994 they were in no place of power to do anything.

But they remembered Yalta.
OTD in 1994 The Budapest Memorandum was signed. It remains the most spectacular waste of paper, ink, and geopolitical optimism in the history of humankind.

The deal was simple: Ukraine disarms. Russia, the UK, and the USA promised, in return, to guarantee our security and territorial integrity.

They had the decency not to blame us for being invaded and didn't push us to surrender.

Moral of the story: you need nukes and can believe absolutely no one, especially not Russia.

What a great interview discussing the principles of Democracy with Mr. Mamdani. I'd love to have free public transportation in my city. It's $3.00 to ride the bus here. I wish all the best for Mr. Mamdani and his crew in leading New York City.

I’m just getting out of class and all I can say is I’ve spent the last year bending over backwards to give Hakeem Jeffries the benefit of the doubt but whoooooo boy today might be the last straw.

It's wild that not a single Republican has done as much to cover for Donald Trump today as Hakeem Jeffries has.

I didn't have Hakeem Jeffries praising Trump for pardoning Henry Cuellar as the thing that would absolutely ruin my day, but just...truly...how in the world can people defend Hakeem Jeffries? How morally lost do you have to be to go to bat for someone who will never even pretend to protect you?

This entire year day after day, Hakeem Jeffries has been nothing but a complicit failure. The fight he puts up is fake. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a performance with no substance.

WE CANNOT LET THE SHIT CONTINUE!

Next year we can remove every single establishment puppet from office!
Just today, Jeffries has praised Trump on his signature issue, and excused a pardon Trump handed to a corrupt Democrat.

He couldn’t be less up to the moment if he tried.

Hakeem Jeffries was just on television praising this guy btw.
Trump goes on another racist rant about Somalis: "Ilhan Omar should be thrown the hell out of our country, and most of those people -- they have destroyed Minnesota. It's a hellhole right now. Those Somalians should be out of here. They have destroyed out country ... go back to your own country."

Corporate Dem Rep Henry Cuellar & his wife were indicted in March 2024 for accepting hundreds of thousands in foreign bribes.

Trump just pardoned them.

Hakeem Jeffries is praising Trump’s decision as “exactly the right outcome” & praising Cuellar as “a beloved member of the House.”

Ridiculous.😐

What if, cars were not the most efficient means of transportations? What if, walkable cities were the most efficient way to reduce the need for cars? What if, 50 mpg was actually seen as a net benefit to everyone on the planet? What are we doing here besides building a shorter future for everyone?

This @nytimes.com article is misleading. “We documented the toxic fallout of a supposedly green technology.”

First of all, this industry is tragic, immoral, and has to stop.

Second, this has zero to do with electric vehicles.

These are the 12-volt batteries in *gas* cars they are talking about.
