A few years ago, prior to Australia’s ‘Black Summer’, I began capturing extreme events as I became aware of them escalating to a frequency of becoming annual events - some type of disaster of unprecedented scale occurring somewhere where such an event was previously unheard of. 🧵
In the past few days there has been serious to extreme flooding in Morocco, Greece, USA, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, France, South Africa, Israel,…

All I want for Christmas is…

A GLOBAL MORATORIUM ON FOSSIL FUEL EXPANSION.

When you vote, you’ll get to choose, as we leave the Holocene, speeding blindfolded, deep into the Anthropocene, which of these former geological epochs you’d most enjoy inflicting upon your children.

Vote wisely.

What did Sagan propose?

- End fossil fuel subsidies. We didn't. Americans still pay $10-50B/yr to fossil fuels and hundreds of billions indirectly.

- Build solar. We did… starting 25 years later.

40 years ago we knew the science knew what to do. Big Oil's lies cost us decades of damage and time.

I'm dumbfounded every time I see this methane graph

We don't know what the last time was that methane concentrations were this high (1943 ppb @noaa.gov).

Maybe 55 million years ago during the Paleocene–Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM)?
