25 November is International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Albanese govt has announced an additional $41.8m for the hotline 1800Respect. This helps.

But men need to actively campaign to end violence against women. That's the key. #auspol

Innovation talk, austerity walk: Australia’s failing science policy
Despite constant rhetoric about innovation, Australia is steadily dismantling its scientific capacity. Public schools, universities and the CSIRO are all under pressure – the result of decades of market-driven policy-making that prioritises short-term cost-cutting over long-term national capability.

No it isn't. The gov't does not at when they sign on to things: they act when they are forced to through external pressure. Now is the time for *climate and environment groups* to act

Big reminder that heat-pumps scale far beyond households — they can decarbonise whole cities.

But Australians with the greatest needs? Yeah nah. #auspol
Gambling ruins lives. It is absolutely unacceptable that the Albanese government will continue to choose vested interests over the wellbeing of Australians and hide behind a watered-down policy - if they ever introduce one. We need action on gambling harms now.
