Check out this fly boxing away a parasitic wasp who is trying to lay eggs in its abdomen.
I've watched a lot of fly behavior, but never seen anything like this. Makes you wonder how much we miss by studying lab organisms in isolation from their natural threats.

After #POD24, I'm really curious about this: to those who are active users of AI and, particularly, those who are promoting AI in the classroom, how are you accounting for the environmental impact of AI? Shouldn't we address the harms before we widely embrace this in education?

Happy to be included in this alternative #assessment starter pack! 6 years at a narrative evaluation-based college forever changed how I think about teaching, learning, and assessment. Now I’m using various modes like #specsgrading and #ungrading in my Neuroscience and First-Year Seminar courses.
Based on a wonderful suggestion from @jaustinedu.bsky.social, I've created a rough Starter Pack for those involved with #ungrading & alternative #assessment.

If I forgot someone (I'm sure I have!), please forgive me & let me know if you want to be added to the list. Thanks!
