Hamas attacked Israel. That is wildly different from the fraud the US is currently perpetuating in Venezuela.
Israel in Palestine, Russia in Ukraine, the US in the Southern Americas (one suspects we shall add to this list: China in Taiwan) - regional powers run roughshod over moral decency, or even just sane proportionality, in their dealings with those they consider within their sphere.
