Given the BBC is publicly funded, this is Donald Trump suing you & me.

It’s a pathetic cry-bully attack on journalism by a wannabe dictator & an attack on every British person.

And our far right politicians & pundits are cheering him on, of course. #r4today

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Can someone explain the reason that The Times, a former newspaper of record ffs, and Joshua Bratt decided to misgender this person - who, by all accounts, has by this point fully transitioned - throughout the piece? Is it some sort of right-wing journalist dare now to disrespect people for clicks?
You might think from the headline that this is a story about a trans kid suffering medical consequences from a large drug dose but nope! It is just an interview with an estranged father who is angry that his child happily transitioned.

Me, in The Guardian today:

"This is a moment that requires bravery in standing up for what is right. Organisations that value trans people should know not just that the law is on their side – but so, also, are many people who will step up to defend them if they have the courage to take a stand."
The WI and Girlguiding have been pressured to exclude trans women – yet the law is clear as mud | Jess O’Thomson
Since the supreme court decision, organisations have faced lobbying and legal threats. But trans people are protected by discrimination law too, says Jess O’Thomson of the Good Law Project

That is some decision in the Sandie Peggie case. I’m going to learn a lot from reading it. In the meantime it is clear that there has been enormous misreporting by the media. They seem to have read only the opening paras of the judgment or else a biased press release. On the law, Sandie Peggie lost.

The Girl Guide survey from this year is devastating. And funnily enough girls aren’t reporting fear of trans kids. Its as if girl’s views on the things that really badly impact their lives are of no importance www.girlguiding.org.uk/about-us/pre...

New research from Girlguiding reveals how the persistent threat of sexism, misogyny and harassment is impacting girls’ everyday lives and affecting their confidence, mental health and wellbeing.

80% of British media spends all day everyday calling trans people predators and freaks, and the remaining 20% say tsk tsk that's a bit much while still arguing they should be banned from even having a fucking hobby and, honestly, would it be so hard for them to just piss before they leave the house?

We're watching the wholesale burning of every scrap of dignity afforded to trans people in the UK, their rights, their medical services, their employment, their place within society, their bodily functions.

It is a disgrace, and a disgusting stain on the government and media of this country.

Setting aside the whys of Guiding and WI doing this and to what extent they're forced, it's now pretty beyond doubt that this is a campaign to deliberately render trans life in the UK impossible.
The article explicitly notes WI had had a trans-inclusive policy *since the 1970s*!
Seems there has been some co-ordination.
