Newsom: The New Testament and Old Testament have one dominant thing in common—Matthew, Isaiah, Luke, Proverbs, go down the list—it’s about food, about serving those who are hungry. It’s not a suggestion; it’s core and essential to what it means to align with God’s will.

Before Rep. Bresnahan shamelessly voted to take away health care away from 17 million Americans, he sold off Medicaid-related stock. His decision to sell out his constituents to protect his bottom line is exactly why we need to ban Congressional stock trading.
GOP Rep. Robert Bresnahan of Pennsylvania voted for Trump’s budget on Thursday, conveniently after he dumped his shares of stock in a Medicaid provider.

“If a president deliberately misuses the military for partisan reasons, he is weakening America’s safety,” writes former defense secretary Leon E. Panetta. “Trust in the military is indivisible from trust in the Constitution. Both must remain inviolable”:
Keeping Politics Out of the Military
U.S. national security depends on citizens’ trust in our armed forces. We lose that if we turn soldiers into law-enforcement officers.

Undocumented immigrants paid an effective federal income tax rate of 5.27% in 2022.

That means they paid a higher effective tax rate than 5 of the richest Americans…and a higher effective tax rate than 55 mega corporations.

So let me ask you: who are the real freeloaders?

Owen was killed in action exactly one week (almost to the hour) before the signing of the Armistice ending the war.
His mother was informed of his death on Armistice Day as the church bells in Shrewsbury rang out in celebration.
