This beautiful ‘network’ mosaic glass bowl looks modern, yet it’s about 2,250 years old!

Made using a technique in which thin threads of twisted glass were spiralled over a convex mould. A wonderful example of the skill of ancient glassmakers!

I will continue to teach about these heroes, including in my current WW2 class, as was on the syllabus long before Trump tried to suppress these histories.
The Air Force will no longer teach its recruits about the Tuskegee Airmen, Black pioneer pilots honored for their service during World War II. Also halted, teaching the history of Women Airforce Service Pilots, or WASPs, the female World War II pilots who were essential in ferrying warplanes…

Australia will never have a strong sense of self identity until we grapple with our complicated history. People like Ley don’t have the emotional maturity to deal with this complication. Colonisation was great for many, and horrible for Aboriginal people. It’s complicated!
