UK poverty is being driven by the same factors as Australia, US, Canada & NZ. Is capitalism finally collapsing as more and more people are priced out of it? It's time we stopped being distracted by domestic political BS. Cost of living crisis is global. #auspol

Not once, but twice & Rudd kicked out an Israeli Diplomat over it, as did UK & Ireland. Gillard (lauded for some unknown reason) & Dreyfus, lobbied against it. Rudd had a spine. Albanese is a shiver looking for one. Apparently committing war crimes is cool & normal by comparison? #auspol
Remember that time the idf used Australian passports for mossad agents

That’s totally cool and normal right?

Just reposting this for context not attacking poster. But I want to point out that Iran attacking jewish buildings is not antisemitism. It is POLITICAL. It is about what Israel is doing in the middle east. And it was an act of war on Australians. This is really serious. #Auspol #Iran #Israel

Cynicism is the last bastion of the perpetually disappointed. I'm nothing BUT cynical. Politicians do NOTHING about anything meaningful to those of us they purport to represent. Democracy is BS. They never listen to us, they're owned by vested interests. We're an inconvenience #SundayShot #auspol

No, they couldn't arrest that many but they certainly created a high risk situation turning people around. The potential for injury doing something that stupid was immense. Ironically, they argued risk of injury to stop the march & ended up creating the biggest risk. Deliberate? or idiotic? #auspol
We all felt we had done something memorable. It was the opposition from government and police to the march that brought hundreds of thousands of us out in the rain. The point we made has clearly registered. #auspol #IsraelPalestine
Watermelons in the rain
We knew a thousand police couldn’t arrest 90,000 of us, so the march for Palestine was always going to happen. An 11th-hour decision by Justice Belinda Rigg just made it legal.

We should re-conceptualise what "bipartisan support" means in Australia. It does not mean "sensible compromise reaching across the political aisle", if it ever did. Today, it typically means "the establishment has united to fuck the rest of us".

“Earning a humanities degree was not only life-changing, in terms of opening up a world of knowledge otherwise beyond my reach, it also turns out to have been enormously productive – for me and many, many people around me,” said Tim Winton this week. “My little arts degree has created jobs and cultural value for over 40 years.”
