Everybody suffers from education erosion, not just the uneducated. I think people often forget they have to share this world with others, meaning we live with the consequences of the collective terrible decisions each other make.
Some people seem to think that if ChatGPT use corrupts the next generation’s ability to read and think, then those of us who are older and literate will benefit more from actually having those skills. With the awareness that we live in a society, I actually don’t think this will go well for anyone
