A huge moment -- Melvyn Bragg steps down from In Our Time after over a quarter of a century. What a programme and what a legacy! Just a model for how to make great, clever, engaging radio, and a twenty-seven-year experiment that proves there's a huge global audience for smart, scholarly programming.

Have been a huge fan of Diana Luke since listening as a teen to my local radio station, Guildford's County Sound, then on Jazz FM and GLR. Now I'm one of the band of "moonbathers & bedwarmers" who tune in avidly to her late night show on @boomradio.co.uk. Thanks @theliveluke.bsky.social 👏👏.
And Last One in this series!

From One Luke, to Another!

It’s the Queen of Late Night Radio, but who is Diana Luke?🌙📻

Well she joins me on #RadioGreats to chat about working at stations that include #TheSuperstation, #JazzFM, #GLR and #Boom!

I was sorry to hear that Ray Brooks has died. In 1999 I was involved in making a low budget BBC documentary about Belle & Sebastian and we got Ray to narrate it. We were fans of his work on Mr. Benn. He did a smashing job for us and was pleasant to work with. Here’s a short extract.

Been buying vintage Fuzzy Felt for the art I’m making & it’s so deeply tender & touching finding some still carry ghost traces of the last owner’s play & since the sets are so old, I wonder if these little scenes were made by a child who’s my age now, with fond middle-aged memories of creating them

This ad has always been one of my favourite things. Kenny Everett bumps into Gerald Harper on the stairs in one of the launch TV promos for Capital Radio in 1973. What a prospect. Sad to hear the news. RIP Gerald Harper. He cut quite the dash. youtu.be/WYobDSEE67w?...
