Lazy artist, with a love for snowboarding and mountain biking. Utterly horrified by our current human world. In order to change the world we have to change humans. What we value, how we value it, how we speak, how we think. From Chimp to Bonobo.

More than ten years ago, I started my "Hannah Arendt" drawings series in my artwork. I lamented that the (Western) world needed thinkers like her desperately but did not have them.

Today, I stand corrected.

I could cry.

Repostring for the links the OP posts in the second post of this thread.

I am kinda holding my breath and my heart in both hands. Most people I speak seem to know of this fact, but somehow think this will happen in half a century or so. They are wrong -and not very kind to their kids and grandkids
Never forget: At breakneck speed we are leaving the stable Holocene climate in which human society developed and thrived. Weather extremes are outside historical experience. Sea-level rise is accelerating. Dangerous tipping points are ahead.

It’s a momentous (and I believe deliberate) failure of the broken mainstream media to insist on a neutral stance instead of reporting the horrible facts truthfully. You are not supposed to be neutral about authoritarianism, racism, fascism, tyranny.

#Medienversagen
Neutrality and objectivity are not the same thing and are, in fact, often contradictory goals. The objective truth is often not neutral in its political implications, and it would be a useless exercise if it was.
Got turned down on a piece about ICE in Chicago for an international news org because they believed I couldn’t be objective about my neighbors getting kidnapped. And well, guilty as charged I guess.

The wealthy of the world think a climate crisis is fine: they will own everything we need to live, (yes, also food and water) and since things are dire, they can sell it to us at the wildest prices. Scarcity is their goal.
UK energy companies made £30bn profit.
Gas extractors £10.8bn
Electricity generators £9.7bn
Transmission/Distribution £6.8 bn
Retail suppliers £2.8 bn

£500 a yr profit from average household
Bills up 42% since 2021.

Critics of renewables often point to land use as a reason not to do wind & solar. Land use IS a real issue for all energy assets incl renewables unless onsite.

But what critics conveniently forget is huge land impact of fossil fuels. Aerial view of fracking sites in Texas. 👇
