They also have an AI assistant, Sheila, who can play your music or operate your GPS but whose main use case is to yell at you if you fall asleep or text while driving.

The CES Award for "Most Justified Use of Creepy Surveillance Tech" goes to Smart Eye, who have developed an optical recognition system that can tell when you're drunk.

They have several versions but the one in this video actually hides the camera in a screen, so the driver can't see it.

The coolest thing I've seen at CES 2026 so far is this intelligent sun visor for your car, by Gentex. You can alter the transparency level to your comfort, and the surprise mirror feature got an honest "wow" reaction from me.

For those keeping score, Bellingcat, The New York Times Visual Investigation Team, & Washington Post's Visual Forensic team have all published analysis showing the ICE shooter wasn't in the path of Renee Nicole Good’s vehicle when he shot her, contradicting statements by the President & his cronies

The protestors in Nepal were flying Straw Hit Pirates flags. Fandom is a much more powerful motivator than political theory these days because we exist in a realm of politics that is essentially a form of fandom. Sorry but Marx and Lenin are dead; long live Luffy and Luthen.

Behold Tensor, the "worlds first robocar". It is level 4 full self driving, with a retractable steering wheel. Waymo is only allowed to self drive certain places. I asked, will Tensor be the same? The answer was, we're working on figuring that out but don't worry we will follow the law and be safe.

At CES 2026, Motrex is yet another company offering AI integration to make driving safer. Unfortunately they chose to do this by making the car "cockpit" exactly the type of enormous tablet computer that makes distracted drivers as dangerous as drunk ones.

Gentle reminder that EVERYONE shot by ICE or the police is innocent. Every single one. Cops aren't Judge Dredd. A person is innocent until proven guilty IN A COURT, so until a person is found guilty by a judge or jury, they're innocent. They're ALL innocent.

Emily Heller, an eyewitness, is speaking out to set the record straight. Officers were screaming at Renee Nicole Good, “Move, move, move.”

So she moved, and they shot her multiple times? Then Noem and Trump branded her a domestic terrorist. Does everyone see how absolutely insane that sounds?

Using imagery online of the shooting by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, we’ve created an animated sequence which highlights the approximate positioning of officers and vehicles at the scene. The red dot represents the agent who fired the shots. Yellow dots are other agents who arrived at the scene.

anyone who thinks that abolishing ICE would be hard because "what do we do with the tens of thousands of ICE personnel" is deeply over complicating things
