In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

AOC: This has now become what we feared most about ICE for a long time—that it would be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but cops are not allowed to shoot people just because you didn't do what they said.

That is called murder when they do that.

Some cops are working hard to convince people otherwise.

Also neat at CES: HP’s battery-powered PC built into a keyboard. Sort of a screenless laptop.

Facebook's Static Hermes is kind of incredible. It can compile JavaScript into C, which is then optimized into native machine code.

I just compiled the Less.js source code into a C library. Then I called it from Rust as a native Parcel plugin (no Node). Wild. 👨‍🔬
