Precisely.
It's always: “We can’t afford to pay our workers a living wage.”

And never: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

The corporate Dems have got to go.
@thirdactupstateny.bsky.social Time for another visit to Albany? You can recycle last-year's climate Xmas carols. Seriously, from DC, to Albany, to Annapolis, to Richmond, corporate Dems never fail to deeply disapoint us.
Wow, great plan, Gov. Hochul!
Burn a lot of gas to mine some crypto in the beautiful Finger Lakes. With visionary leadership like that, the future is, um, kinda dark

That a federal judge had to block the Trump administration from pushing millions of Americans into hunger says everything about this President and the party he leads.

Grateful to our Attorney General for being on the frontlines of this fight.
In a major victory, a court ruled the Trump administration must use emergency funds to provide food stamps to Americans.

No one should choose between paying bills and buying groceries.

We'll continue our lawsuit to fight for our families and the services they deserve.

I found this a really illuminating thread on what demonstrations do and why they matter.
In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

It looks like Trump's hand picked Supreme Court isn't going to stop him from rescinding money that Congress already agreed to use.

How can Democrats agree to a Republican budget that lets Trump delete the parts of it he doesn't like?
Supreme Court allows Trump to cut $4B in foreign aid in 'pocket rescission'
The Supreme Court on Friday moved to allow the Trump administration to effectively cut $4 billion of foreign aid previously enacted by Congress.

Using an emergency declaration, Trump’s timber production executive order would ease environmental protections so as to greatly expand logging in the national forests.

A report from our friends at @highcountrynews.org:
