"No one is coming to collect all the useless pennies. And no one is explaining how to get along without them. The government, in other words, is treating the pennies the way it has for decades: by making them Americans’ problem."
Pennies Are Trash Now
The government has no plan for America’s 300 billion pennies.

Argh. Google android phones have a time wasting "news scroll" with a frequently updated, personalized, list of news and distractions. This afternoon it became peppered with Twitter posts: nature, bleepingcomputer, astronomyoftheday, vice-president of India...

Every single time! Epstein will write:

"porsecters h4arrsed me w/ sbuopenas al bcuase tr4ificing myners .due porcess much???no"

and then there's, like, the former president of a university or white house counsel or something replying:

"You're totally right, and also I love you with all my heart."

On Bluesky, it's "nice" to "Like", but it's (more) effective to Repost. Be effective. (You can also be nice).

Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

In case you didn't know about Scott Adams' rhetorical defence of trumpet in 2017. It was pathetic and was perfectly in line with his later attack on Black people who did not think White people were perfectly good people. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
Scott Adams's Nihilistic Defense of Donald Trump
The cartoonist defended the president in a podcast debate with Sam Harris. The portrait he painted of Trump supporters was not flattering.

Would it help if I sent in my kids' participation medals for soccer, which we might have, and I could print new labels with the Brother P-touch label maker? Black text on clear or gold text on black? 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, right?

Rural towns in the USA: horror.

Likely voting Republican against their own self-interests. Poorly educated and informed. And misogynist, crushing the girls before they leave high school with the responsibility for pregnancy. And victims of opiate addiction.

Today I learned that "gum base" in chewing gum is made mostly petroleum-drived polymers: "butadiene-styrene, polyvinyl acetate, polyethylene, paraffin, and petroleum waxes"

WTF. Capitalism and the lack of individual and environmental health protection is killing us.

Ellis says she called Bovino into court today to prevent something like that happening again, and to ensure agents abide by the 1st and 4th amendment.

And that kids throughout Chicago can feel safe and confident that law enforcement officers are there to protect them.

"I'll let you get back to work."
