A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

I thought left economy/government works for everyone. Right everyone works for economy/government.
Partly because so many formerly leftwing parties have turned to the right, there's a lot of confusion about what right and left mean in politics. I hope this helps:

The right defends economic power.

The left resists economic power.

The sheer greasy desperation from these bastards that any violent crime is committed by an immigrant so they can continue their grift. Even when they know it isn't true. Foul.
Matt Goodwin attributes a crime that he now knows appears to have been committed by people born in Britain in the early 1990s to "mass uncontrolled immigration"

Starmer is a lawyer trying to do politics. it would only be worse if he was an accountant trying to do politics. i have reached the point of not caring, there is so much that needs fixing after 40 years of vile Tories and stupid Blair. Water, Housing, taxing landlords to the max, jobs, NHS, Defence
This is good on the options in the short term.

As always in such markets, the key question is not who but when. If it's not in the next 12 months, the candidate list is wider and very different.

Angela Rayner strengthens with time from her indiscretion. And watch Torsten Bell.
New post just out:

"Who might replace Starmer?"

With pressure growing on the PM, there are a lot of conversations going on in Westminster about who could take over.

Who are the contenders? Who's best placed to win? Would it make any difference?
