The entrance to Cebe’s Hand, a wild swampland in the Florida Panhandle. While not as wild as being inside Cebe’s Hand will be. There is still tons of foliage and greenery around. A deer drinks from a nearby bed of water. An alligator lies in wait. JES (Off-Panel): June 6th, 2017. JES (OP): Lisa Leung arrived in Devil’s Garden, Florida with her now deceased fiancé, Jonathan Johnson, to visit his estranged parents, William & Mary, also now deceased. 2 - The Alligator slowly and quietly swims up towards the deer, who unknowingly continues to drink. JES (OP): What was supposed to be a day of reconciliation transformed into a night of horrors. 3 - Suddenly, the deer jerks its head up from drinking. SFX: shf shf JES (OP) A night where only Lisa would survive. 4 - …and darts away before the Alligator can strike. JES (OP): Supposedly, a church fire would claim 33 souls that night. Their bodies have never been found. JES (OP): But that doesn’t explain what happened next. 5 - Lisa, the noise that alerted the deer, walks down a dirt road, naked and bloodsoaked. JES (OP): The following morning, as the sun’s light broke over the horizon… JES (OP): …Lisa was seen stumbling, naked and bloodsoaked, down an old dirt road that leads from Cebe’s Hand, a tangled web of swampland that stretches across the Florida panhandle. Page 2 Seven Panels 1 - Sheridan Porter, a white man in his late 50s with leather tan skin, drives a middle of the road pick up truck. Not new, but not a beater either. It’s well maintained despite its age. He had a quizzical look on his face as he tries to make sense of this figure he sees ahead. JES (OP): Sheridan Porter, a Good Samaritan, who happened to be driving to his favorite fishing spot, was the first to find her. 2 - Wide shot of the truck pulling over as it nears Lisa. JES (OP): When he noticed the state Lisa was in, he pulled to the side of the road to help. 3 - Sheridan exits his truck as Lisa passes him by. JES (OP): As Sheridan approached, he could hear her talking to herself. LISA (to herself): I don’t know. I don’t know. I took a leap of faith… 4 - Sheridan approaches Lisa who does not notice him at all. JES (OP): If this all wasn’t strange enough, Lisa didn’t even notice him. JES (OP): It was like she was somewhere else. Lost in her own mind. LISA (to herself): This isn’t right. It shouldn’t be possible, but you’re still here. 5 - Lisa collapses into Sherdian’s arms. JES (OP): Sheridan stopped her and asked for her name and she immediately collapsed in his arms. SHERIDAN: Ma’am, are you okay? What happened to you? 6 - She weakly looks up at him. We can see both of them in this panel. JES (OP): She looked at him, finally realizing where she was, and quietly uttered a single sentence. 7 - Extreme close-up on Lisa’s exhausted, bloodsoaked face. JES (OP): M-my name is Lisa Johnson, and… Page 3 Splash The burned down ruins of The Sacred Heart Church from EAT MY FLESH, DRINK MY BLOOD. Near the back of the ruins, where the altar would be. We see the tree in the image above. Dead and without leaves. Its branches rise above the ruins lifted like hands/arms reaching for the sun. The title logo displayed over it. I JUST CAME FROM HELL

The Hearth (1/21)

A sapphic horror comic about witchcraft and hunger in the dead of winter.
An illustrated cover for a short comic called The Hearth by lainey williams. A cabin sits in a clearing in a snowy forest. Rewatched THE FOG (1980) for the first time in years and I now think it’s a 10/10.

Incredible atmosphere and patience. Phenomenal use of a big cast, great pacing and really fantastic effects.

I can’t believe I used to think this was a lesser Carpenter.

One-page comic story. Panel 1 : lightning bolt hits someone on a bed through a hole in an old house roof 2-3 : a wild looking scientist gal lowers the bed down, excitedly activating a mechanism using chains "Yes ! Yes !! My beautiful creation! my perfect creature ! You will LIVE once again !" 4 : said creature wakes up growling, a Frankenstein-like woman, with scars showing where limbs got attached to each other 5 : she looks down and notices she now has pretty HUGE boobs 6 : the scientist, looking excited and perky, waiting for a reaction "Well ?" 7 : the biggest smile appears on the "creature"s face 8 : she grabs the scientist and holds her tight, burrying her face in her new boobs "They're JUST what I've always wanted !!" "Donor bodies are always a challenge, but you gave EXCELLENT direction. I don't know how much FEELING you'll have. But obviously I'm MORE than happy to -" 9 : close up of the scientist's face, that the other one is holding in her hands, pressing her cheeks "Vickie. Stop talking and get up here" Smiling, delighted, the scientist/Vickie answers : "Yes, dear."

Demon swarm (colors altered)
A tri faced winged demon devours humans. The king demon sits on a sky scraper as if it were a throne. He bites off the heads and discards the bodies. His subjects a torent of smaller demons rise up in a chaotic flame like swarm implying a flame or fire. The scene is rendered in color but also finely etched lines. Each figure is unique.
