the hardest part about being trans is being forced to accept that your family probably kinda sucks, whereas if you're cis you can likely tolerate only seeing your lead-poisoned uncle a few times a year because "oh he's family". we don't really get the comfort nor convenience of cognitive dissonance.

Bartenders can be a woman’s best friend. They overhear conversation, read body language, read the entire room and sort thru the BS and call it, most of the type quite accurately.

Bailyn made that point and it’s true. Late 18th C. America produced a more extensive and voluminous written record, and with a greater degree of mass participation and mass literacy, than probably any generation anywhere on the planet to that point, including in the UK which was next closest.

Why the fuck are Democrats trying to make Marjorie Taylor Greene a Democrat?

Maybe they should spend a bit more time accepting that Zohran Mamdani is in their party before going off about welcoming nazis.

Right, like as soon as the calculus flips from "disloyalty to trump is a death sentence" to "disloyalty to trump is rewarded" it all just implodes
We're not rooting for her to end up president or anything. We just want her to break the spell Trump has over the cowards in his party that lets him get to do whatever he wants.

I think you do have to root for MTG here because the sooner a high-profile R actually in the government gets this treatment and survives the sooner the whole thing falls apart
Trump digs in deeper on Marjorie Taylor Greene, calls her a "Traitor to our Country."

Amazing, no notes, I do not desire to learn anything else about this story, for it would only detract from the perfection on this headline.

AOC has a better shot at 2028 than Newsom does, that prick already threw in his lot with the rightwing podcasters and the transphobes.

Reactionary centrists can whine about "purity tests," but fact is Dem contenders now must have spine & principles. Candidates without that will struggle in 2028.
2028 watch: The most effective ad for Prop 50 came not from Gavin Newsom. It came from AOC.
-Super PAC Future Forward found that Ocasio-Cortez's direct-to-camera ad did better than ads featuring Newsom — Prop 50's chief cheerleader — and Barack Obama.

Scoop: AOC's ad outscores Newsom's in California redistricting campaign
The report is a sign the progressive star could be a formidable opponent against Newsom — even in his home state — in a presidential primary.

Trump lost his trade war in every possible sense. It hurt the economy; it made us look ludicrous and lawless; and it gave Beijing a chance to reach for world power. And there is nothing Trump can do about any of this except back down and blame others. (1/2)

The use of terror is not a byproduct of Trumpian politics: it is central to how he governs.
(Politico) - An Indiana Senate Republican who President Donald Trump called out in a Truth Social post Sunday for not backing the White House’s plan to draw new congressional maps was later targeted by a swatting, according to local authorities.

Trump doesn’t have to call on House Republican to vote to release the file.

Trump can order Bondi and Patel to release the files. Tomorrow.

The question is, has he already ordered Bondi and Patel to destroy some of the files after they went through them months ago.
Trump: "House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide."

During the shut down, my Associate Pastor put together an excellent series on figures in Christian history and he did one on Wheatley - I had never heard of her before that - #hatm

The Loyalist/Tory perspective is always fascinating to me. Undoubtedly to them they were the true patriots. Revolutionary Committees demanding loyalty oaths would bother me too! Perhaps they would have disliked King George more if he ever visited them, lol! 😅😅 #HATM

It really is fascinating how disparate the northern and southern colonies were in culture and ideology. Nonetheless, they made it work. Unfortunately, the northerners devil’s bargain with allowing slavery is still a chilling reminder of political pragmatism over principle. #HATM
