Was "being increasingly nasty to immigrants and asylum seekers" in the Labour 2024 manifesto? I am asking because they don't seem to have any problems with it, unlike with increasing income tax. Probably because a lot of immigrants can't vote, so the government is fine not treating them as people.

So today we went to visit the train market and the floating market.

I visited the floating market 10 years ago. The train market wasn’t a thing at that time.

All there was left of the original floating market 10 years ago is now gone. The canals are overcrowded. Only souvenirs and food stalls.

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

I know, I am Thailand just now, do how the ‘Romans’ do.

Eat local.

The small, dark box at the bottom is the total volume of highly radioactive waste from nuclear in the entire world. And a lot of this can be recycled into new fuels. Its volume is tiny compared to waste from mining rare earths for renewables.

I would highly recommend Going Nuclear by Tim Gregory.

As always, accuracy is critical. What I said was:
"In some respects this government under Keir Starmer looks more Tory than the Tories".
I had just spelt out exactly which respects I meant: its anti-protest laws and the Planning and Infrastructure Bill.
George Monbiot: "This government is more Tory than the Tories."

Bernard Jenkin: "This is the most left-wing government we have ever seen."

Labour MP: 🤷🏽‍♂️

Wow. Just wow. We can safely say that leaving Europe is very bad for your economic health.

So what are UKG doing about it, and why is the answer not dropping the May-Johnson redlines?
Headline from a serious and long working paper on the economic impact of Brexit. Possible that this has been feeding into OBR and HMT discussions?
