W.A., leading the country in fossils fuels fuckery #statecapture
The North West Shelf expansion approved by WA Premier Roger Cook will create emissions equivalent to 25x that of WA's largest coal power station.

25 new coal power stations would be considered unacceptable, and so should this decision.

Our household has C19, primary school the likely source. Our (likely asthmatic) 3yo isn’t vaccinated 🤬 our 6yo hasn’t been boosted 🤬 after I turned on the purifier in the PA room that he was doing his EOY production in last week, someone else got up and turned it off (& closed the door I opened) 🤬
Our household has COVID, primary school the likely source. Once again our community is awash with this virus, the 2nd-3rd major spike this year without any v ‘low’ period. Every (re)infection does damage so pls work to minimise spread, to protect yourself & others. It’s not another common ‘cold’. 1/

state capture no more apparent than in my home state of WA
Albanese “has personally intervened to scupper a deal” with the Greens over an environmental reform promised last election… circumventing his own environment minister, Tanya Plibersek, who had been negotiating “for months and was close to striking a deal”.
Yikes.

Tanya Plibersek’s negotiations with the Greens over a major environmental reform were close to bearing fruit. But the prime minister halted talks.

Please do consider that being able to bail on Xitter and move here requires privilege that not everyone has.
Many disabled & chronically ill people are feeling left behind by those who've left Twitter. Concerns range from not having enough spoons to make transition, not knowing where to go and fears they won't be able to find their people once they get there.

How can we ensure no one gets left behind?

If you’re having a debate inside the Democratic Party about the role of pressure groups & special interests in determining your agenda, & making you take unpopular positions that cost you swing states, & you’re not mentioning AIPAC then you’re not actually having a real debate.

This is happening now in Beirut.

X, as horrific as it got, is a loudspeaker for the silenced. I am still there because of it. We must get intentional about circulating the horrors in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan if we intend to make this the just alternative.
#Israel’i air strikes just flattened these residential apartment blocks in #Beirut. You can hear shocked screams of people in the street below as the missiles hit & the buildings collapse in just seconds. This is the daily reality of life in #Lebanon’s capital now.
