Today is a good day to remind you that none of the classic vote studies thought very highly of women's political competence.

"It honors our country."

Yeah, the thing that's going to bring America back to its glory days is me showing up for my Frontier Airlines flight in a tux.

This is precisely how I feel. Nice to know that when the series ends it won’t affect my next day one iota.
I love baseball, but there is something very freeing about not caring at all what happens in the World Series. (Officially I am Anybody Except The Dodgers, but I truly do not care.)

There can’t be any gun restrictions because we have to protect against federal government tyranny, and if kids get shot we just have to live with it. Also the President can send troops to cities because the federal government can do whatever it wants. These two ideas are consistent and reasonable.

@clintsmithiii.bsky.social writes brilliantly about the need to honestly grapple with history. His book was essential for my class in DC last January. It is infuriating that the anger from the administration is with teaching this history and not the fact that unconscionable violence was committed
a thought i have reading @clintsmithiii.bsky.social’s wonderful piece is that one reason the administration wants to erase any mention of the worst of our past is because it is intent on recapitulating those atrocities www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
Actually, Slavery Was Very Bad
The president’s latest criticism of museums is a thinly veiled attempt to erase Black history.

Cracker Barrel allowed people to buy an audio book and return it at another Cracker Barrel and get everything but $5 back. Great for road trips. I have a fondness for it. So, one on hand, this is the absolute stupidest nonsense. On the other, people lose their jobs and are hurt.
Chris Rufo suggests his new campaign is to “break” the Barrel.

The #1 way to explain America working properly is by saying “comedians can make fun of he President on TV.” A good way to explain fascism is “the President forces companies to fire those comedians as a condition of allowing them to conduct business.”

This was the *short* version of the paragraph too, it easily could have been 2-3x as long. Anyway, for all the handwringing certain Dems do about what might happen if they expand the Supreme Court, this is what is going to happen for the next 40ish years if they don't! bsky.app/profile/prof...

The Democratic Party’s age problem isn’t just bad, it’s much worse than Republicans’. Half of registered Democratic voters are under 50, yet half their senators are over 67. Despite claiming to represent the future, party leadership systematically blocks younger voices from gaining power.

“Look, here's burial sites all over the place. These are all white farmers that are being buried,” Donald Trump said during today’s White House meeting with South Africa’s president.

The image he was holding up, however, is of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Seems like this would be a good message to spread far and wide
How many federal workers would DOGE need to fire to make up for Musk not paying his fair share of taxes?

Answer: 677,000. That's 44% of the entire non-DoD federal workforce.

Again, this power grab is not about the budget. It’s about politics.
