Word of the day, should you be feeling a little huffish, is ‘apanthropy’ (18th century): a love of solitude and the desire to be away from other people.

I once tweeted this "Aha! GOTCHA! Just spotted Wally in one of the crowd scenes in Émile Zola's ‘Germinal'.", which led to people spotting a series of appearances of Wally in various books. Wonderfully, author Matt Blakstad was on the final draft of a book, which he amended to include Wally.

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Meet Pete the cat, my studio assistant.
According to him, he’s in charge of picking and packing, stocktaking, order wrapping and logistics management.
Pete says I’d be nothing without him. He might be right.

Dane has a favourite TV show, has worked out how to completely unplug the Playstation (and the controllers) AND eject a disc from it.

Fitzwilliam doesn't even know we *have* a TV.

You don't have to ask which one is which, do you?

Take two songs with the same name and post your combined score out of 10. How high can you get?

No covers/no triples (e.g. Power of Love)

My first effort, which i think is hard to beat...

Zombie (Fela Kuti) 10/10
Zombie (The Cranberries) 7/10

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵
