Back in NYC. JFK is a shit show

Spent my last day in Tokyo at Design Festa, which is basically the biggest arts and crafts fair you've ever seen, but everything is pro level execution. Wish I could've have gone both days, I maybe only saw half of it probably less.

Still always surprises me that it's not "site"

Coming to the terrible realization that I'm less than 10 hours into a 38 hour long day

Last day in Japan. Looking forward to eventually sleeping in my own bed again, and seeing my cats. Not looking forward to work on Monday.

While walking around the park in Kichijoji I saw a giant Saint Bernard wearing socks on only its front paws. This throws a giant wrench into the whole how would dogs wear pants debate.

Even though I'm by myself I've found I'm not wearing my earbuds when going around Tokyo like I do in NYC. I'm not sure if this because I'm trying to be aware of what's going on, or that Tokyo is so much quieter that you don't need them.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

I've seen Ado live three times now, and somehow each time is better than the last. Granted this time was on her home turf, and in a giant fucking domed baseball stadium, but the production is wildly good.

It's so hard to get Japanese concert tickets. I thought I'd jumped through all the hoops, but turns out there were still some more.

Showering at the airport after a long flight is life saving
November 8, 2025 at 9:30 PM
If letterboxd had an option for movies you partly watched occasionally glancing at someone else's screen on a plane, I'd have like four to add from this flight

I'm at the airport, but this Japan trip still feels fake to me. Happened to win a lottery to get tickets to Ado at the Tokyo Dome. Happened to have enough credit card points to make the trip basically free. And then going completely alone just feels weird.

Got a very cute Rye pose before heading to the airport

Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

I'm flying to Japan on Saturday for a week. It's my sixth going, but my first time entirely by myself, which is mildly nerve wracking.

I also have a few big things planned that I can't confirm until I'm actually in the country, which is causing most of the anxiety.

it doesn’t get any clearer that america’s betrothal to fossil fuels is about letting energy companies pick our pockets to prop up their obsolete industry
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative
