Thirty years ago and I still think of it as a “new era” film 😳
The seventeenth film in the James Bond series "GOLDENEYE" directed by Martin Campbell and the first to star Pierce Brosnan as secret agent 007, premiered #OnThisDay in 1995 at the Radio City Music Hall, New York City

This is Donald Trump levels of stupidity. Do not, for the love of all that is holy, use emojis in file names.
No no no begs every archivist. You are never going to be able to find anything. Please don’t start using emojis in file names. Who asked for this? What fresh hell is next?

No other word has done more damage to the craft of writing in recent years than “content”. Even if you’re using the word “content” ironically, or as a cute little joke, don’t. When someone calls writing “content” they’re pissing on someone’s hard work & passion. “Content” is Technosatan’s henchword.

Went to an am-dram panto this evening (@shirley-sings.bsky.social’s partner was playing the dame) and had a bloody brilliant time. Lots of heartfelt laughter which felt really good. I prescribe pantos for everyone to chase those blues away!

having become a young adult in the late 80s I feel pretty well qualified to say that independent music is more vital now than it’s ever been, and that the opportunities for creativity and community within it are endless

Til Tuesday (Aimee Mann’s band before going solo) got me through my university finals. “Welcome Home” was a speculative purchase in the Virgin Megastore in Manchester.

And I’ve been buying her records ever since.
Have to agree woth Andrew here. Aimee Mann is one of the best female songwriters around, and still criminally underappreciated in the UK.

I'd nominate all of "Lost In Space" as her best songs.
Someone might read this and say "Hey, Where is Guys Like Me? Where is It's Not, where is You Do? Where is Freeway? Where is Little Bombs" But I say, Hey, there are enough amazing Aimee Mann songs to go around because the woman can do no wrong.
