Have to say I became tired of the ahistorical nonsense being exchanged here about “are the Nazis left or right wing” which seemed to start with Peter Hitchens in a Mail on Sunday article proclaiming them left-wing: the irony lost on him that his paper and its owners were..

Just try to think back to the world just over the decade ago and remember an age that was still sane and that this barking mad far right bullshit was still mostly on the fringes. Now it is US Policy.

Cool! I live near Canary Wharf so tomorrow I can use the ferry to head to Rotherhithe and have a pub lunch at The Mayflower (named after the ship that left from here to settle New England - US people confused, Plymouth was its last European landfall before reaching America, not its port of orgin.)
Electric ferry brings zero-emission travel to the River Thames
The Orbit Clipper will carry passengers between Canary Wharf and Rotherhithe every 10 minutes.

Trying to explain to kids in my school who are hooked on Stranger Things that it is pretty much what my life as a teenager in the 80s was like (playing D&D, violent school bullying, riding everywhere on bikes) but without the monsters.

How many US politicians are either sociopaths or even psychopaths like this evil POS?
Sen. Mullin: "We know that the Navy or the Coast Guard picked up survivors already and sent them back to their country."

Bash: "Could that be because a lawyer in the Pentagon said 'you can't do that again'?"

Sen. Mullin: "No…Why do we care if we take them out in international water?"

Just give me 2 years and 8 months to retire @dermotncosgrove.bsky.social and I will do my best to preserve the Irish pubs that serve Beamish
After WW2 when the UK was rebuilding blitzed areas they prioritised the rebuilding of places they saw as important to soxial cohesian. That focused on churches and Pubs. Reckon Ireland's government needs to have the same attitude.

That includes Farage and Reform Ltd.

Damn! Just been reading about the Battle of Chysler's Farm 1813 where 900 British soldiers stood in a 2 rank thin red line and smashed about 7000 USA Regular Troops trying to invade Canada. Should be a film like Zulu but I guess Hollywood would not be so keen on it.

In the end, Brexit was always a Russian Operation to create as much distance between the EU and NATO. FFS, Aaron Banks donated a record amount, clearly more than he could afford, to Leave UK, and was then partying with the Russian Ambassador on the night of the referendum.
Another proof of how much Brexit has weakened Britain.
