I’m calling bullshit on all the people who said that if they had a Time Machine they’d go back and kill Hitler. From what I’ve seen they’d all just sit there with their hands folded on their laps as they watched him get sworn in.

In just under two weeks, the BA newsletter will return with a 50th anniversary look back at Agharta and Pangaea, the twin live albums Miles Davis recorded on February 1, 1975. In the meantime, read this — and listen good and loud.
50 years ago tonight, the Miles Davis septet launched a 3-week tour of Japan in its capital city. The first of 2 nights in Tokyo was recorded for radio broadcast, and the tape is a true gem of the electric era. Heady and remarkably tight, the music from 1/22 is a bold introduction to …

Lemme be the first to say, that while Martin Luther King Jr Day is on Monday......the same day as the inauguration,

TODAY is MLK Jr's actual birthday. He would be "only" 96 today. For reference, Jimmy Carter just passed a couple weeks ago.

He was 100. Berry Gordy & MLK were born the same year
