And finally, for all of pro-police sentiment on the the left 1) the police don't like the left and never will and 2) people who commit great harm -- poisoning our children, sexual violence, robbing the public, paying criminally low wages so people sleep in their cars -- are more powerful.

One of the biggest impacts I’ve seen from the unproven idea that people are wrongfully using disability accommodations is that people stop trusting people with disabilities and in fact further restrict, remove, and demonize accommodations for people with disabilities in general

I know a lot of footage and commentary is swirling about today but it’s important to convey that the people who gathered outside that ICE garage in lower Manhattan were *so* ten toes down focused.

This person who gets maced and just calmly flips the bird & keeps going is *quintessential.*

Another way to look at this is when ICE, CBP, et al lie on reports, now they can blame AI. “U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis wrote… that the practice of using ChatGPT to write use-of-force reports undermines the agents’ credibility and ‘may explain the inaccuracy of these reports.’”
Judge's footnote on immigration agents using AI raises accuracy and privacy concerns
A federal judge called out an immigration enforcement agent for using artificial intelligence to write the narrative of a use-of-force report as just a small part of a scathing opinion that rebutted f...

Police have access to massive surveillance networks that track the public whether they are suspects or not. That means probably for every 1 officer caught using the system to harass or spy on people they have feuds with, ex's, activists, journalists, there are probably 100 more we don't know about.

“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.

Gaza saw its first major rainfall of the season today. Within minutes, people were submerged and tents holding families and children flooded. This is slow death. There is no justification for why proper shelter that can withstand the elements is not being allowed in.
