Shot in the dark: Wally’s favorite toy got disemboweled by a dog friend while I was out of town, and they don’t seem to make this anymore. Does anybody have a Zippy Paws corgi that their dog doesn’t care about that you’d be willing to rehome?

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.
The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.
The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.
Why?
It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

"Everyone for themselves" is the conservative economic mantra, and it fails people time and again. Unions negotiate better wages than individuals. Social Security offers more retirement security than individual saving. And group health insurance is better than going it alone #mepolitics
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

FHP killed four people chasing a street racer:
FHP didn’t stop chasing vehicle until seconds before fatal Ybor City crash, video shows - Creative Loafing Tampa
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) pursued a vehicle down Ybor City’s E 7th Avenue, known for its weekend nightlife, around 12:30 a.m. early Saturday morning. The vehicle, which had allegedly been used for street racing earlier that night, swerved to avoid a turning vehicle and crashed, killing four people and injuring 13 others outside of Bradley’s on 7th. Advocates for safer police pursuits say this was a poorly-executed chase that prioritized apprehension of a nonviolent criminal over public safety.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

As a federal employee in your state I feel far from protected with this (or represented by my Senator). You're touting ensuring a law you passed in 2019 is followed and people fired will be reinstated (at least until 30 JAN 2026), while ensuring a vote on ACA you already know is dead.
