For many, the logic seemed unassailable: Giving poor families money would measurably improve the lives of their children. A few years ago, social scientists set out to test whether that assumption was right.

The results of the experiment shocked them. Listen to "The Daily."
More Money Was Supposed to Help Poor Kids. So Why Didn’t It?
A new study may undercut the idea that cash payments to low-income families can end the cycle of childhood poverty.

This whole thread needs to be read by anyone in campaign work.

There are huge lessons here about how to appeal to a broad audience, not just immediate followers.

Also lines up with everything I wrote this morning about the need for positive, hopeful vision right now that appeals to the masses.
Remarkable: Zohran Mamdani's video about returning to Uganda racked up 4.5 million views on Instagram, 56% among non-followers, per data given to me.

He is forging a new answer to Dems' digital woes. I talked to his advisers in depth about it. Fascinating. 1/

Rebuttal

1. “The federal courts lack the power to issue nationwide injunctions. Period. Full stop.

EQUITABLE powers under Article III and the Judiciary Act of 1789. When a federal policy affects people uniformly nationwide, a localized injunction fails to provide meaningful.
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson called yesterday's decision about nationwide injunctions "an existential threat to the rule of law."

She's mistaken.

@starbucks has customers who buy $5 drinks

In solidarity with Trump and its customers Starbucks has decided to self impose 50% tariffs on its drinks.

Customers will now pay $7.50 for the same drink as a result of the new tariffs.

Win for all.
Phil Gramm and Donald Boudreaux, 100% correct about tariffs, are hoping dummy Donald Trump will learn basic economics or that his obsequious GOP will show some spine. The first will never happen and I fear the second won't happen soon enough.
