I can theoretically understand how a person might develop feelings for a chatbot I guess, but I've seen the logs, and all those things talk like a sentient Tumblr account got a job as an HR manager

(1/11) If you live in NY, you’ve probably started seeing a new warning: “THIS PRICE WAS SET BY AN ALGORITHM USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA.” This mandatory disclosure went into effect late last year, and it’s the first attempt by a US state to grapple with a new generation of surveillance pricing.

Let me tell you a tale of how completely the normies have been mobilized. My 14 year-old niece has done School of Rock for the past 5 years; last summer she was part of their touring band, and the kids loved playing together so much that they decided to keep doing it. (1/?)

One thing about the Republican destruction of academia is their shallow vision of what should replace it. They don't want anything like academics, scholarship, or research to exist, they want it to be nothing more than right-wing pundits spouting off whatever lazy nonsense is needed that week.
Devastated to learn that Univ of Texas at Austin is closing the American Studies dept. The years I spent there earning my PhD were formative, making me the teacher, thinker, and writer I am today. I've passed on what I learned at UT to thousands of students over the past 20 years. Just awful.

What’s so weird about men in power is how when they face scandal and should step down the world acts like no one else can do their jobs. Bottstein, Wasserman, these aren’t irreplaceable men! Stop with this delusion.

Check this shit out motherfucker [I slide one foot out from under me and fall on my ass, the camera matrix-style swings 180 degrees making clear what kind of move I was trying to do]
At 9:18, 3rd period of the Finland-Switzerland women's ice hockey QF game, the ice crew came to clean the ice during a pause
What follows is the funniest use of the slo-mo alternate angle tech I've seen them use during these Olympics of one of the crew members falling

1/3 What Musk is really referring to here is, of course “race” - that construct that served to define the hierarchies of wealth & power structured by modern colonialism. Like other far right racists though, he uses the word “culture” as a seemingly less pernicious synonym.

My first Valentine's alone since my wife was condemned to an underwater supermax for violent metahumans. And they built it out of materials that damp her powers, so she can't even appear in my dreams tonight to terrify me to orgasm like she used to. But I suppose all relationships change over time.

This person is deathly afraid of the idea that trans people might have political allies in the Democratic Party because their greatest dream in life is to be an oppressed class.

Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not

Saw an old lady carrying a big bouquet. Yelled out, “You gotta stop buying me flowers, or people are going to talk!” Got a big old lady laugh. Still got it.
